Thomas F. Kallmeyer

Thomas F. Kallmeyer, passed away Monday October 25th at 83 years of age. Tom spent his life loving all those around him and inspiring anyone who knew him to become a better person.  He was a life-long resident of Villa Hills attending St. Joseph Elementary, St. Xavier High School and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, College of Engineering with a ME in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduating from UC, Tom joined American Electric Power where he spent his entire professional career.  Tom’s intelligence coupled with his infectious personality propelled him into great success with AEP over his 40+ year career.  As a plant manager, Tom was often called upon to take on special assignments to improve the operations of the overall company.  In 1970, Tom was chosen by the East/West Utilities Commission to represent all the regional power plants on a special assignment in LaJolla, CA. He and his family were able to spend a year having unforgettable experiences personally while he impacted the future course by which power plants operated. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his high school friends and fellow football teammates by continuing the tradition of a bi-monthly luncheon throughout his life.  

However, Tom’s ultimate love in life was his family and enjoying every aspect of being a husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Maureen (nee Sullivan) whom he adored with all his heart.  Their never-ending love and admiration for each other was an inspiration to everyone around them.  Also survived by his loving children Greg (Lynn), Lisa Stoll (Ken), Carolyn (Wayne), Gary (Gerry) and Krista Austin (Greg).  Loving Papa to Chad (Tessa), Christopher, Sean Kallmeyer; Sydney (Nick), Taylor (Ben), Corey (Tamara), Cameron (Christi), Kiley (Jared), Mackenzie (Marius), Bo Stoll; Christopher, Brooke (Dhruv), Connor Cauhorn; Madison, Adam, Alex, Hannah Kallmeyer; Abby, Kayla, Isabella Adkins.  Loving great grand Papa to Mackenzie, Jackson, Vivian, Cole, Brady and Julian.  One of his favorite times in life was their annual family vacation to Hilton Head Island.  As the family grew over the years so did the fun and joy of this special time together! Words cannot express how greatly his family will miss his unending love of life, infectious smile, great wit, and ability to uplift anyone in his presence. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 3:00 pm at Blessed Sacrament Church.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5:00 pm.  Burial at St. Mary Cemetery.  Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft Wright are handling arrangements.  Memorial donations can be made to: Villa Madonna Academy 2500 Amsterdam Rd, Villa Hills KY 41017 or St. Xavier High School 600 North Bend Rd, Cincinnati Ohio 45224.
