Susan C. Lohre

Sue Lohre (nee Greis), age 80, of Union, KY, passed away July 28. She attended Blessed Sacrament Elementary School and Notre Dame Academy. She was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and in the choir for over 60 years. She loved singing and sang in a quartet with her sisters as a child, once winning an amateur singing competition on local radio, and as an adult with the Greis Family Singers at family weddings. She was married to her husband, Dave Lohre, for 60 years. She was involved in a bridge club and a special club of friends from Notre Dame Academy, class of ’58. Sue is survived by her husband Dave Lohre; six children, Elisia Getts (Lenny), Kimberly Van Valkenburgh (Paul), Pamela Brungs (Bernie), Julia Holtkamp (Doug), David Lohre (Kelley), and Renee Bellon (Alvaro); thirteen grandchildren, Mitch and Chris Getts, Heidi and Kylie Van Valkenburgh, Karly and Evan Brungs, Avery Holtkamp, Olivia and Ava Lohre, and Alex, Nickolas, Natasha, and Katarina Bellon; and one great grandchild, Cameron Getts. Also brothers Leo Greis, Bob Greis, John Greis, and Jeff Greis and sisters Ann Louise Fritz, Barbara Hierholtzer, Verna Haggerty, Rose Kleier, and Michelle Stallmeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernadette Greis, her sister Judy McCarthy, and brother Joe Greis. Visitation will be Monday, August 2, 2021 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Burial is immediately after at St. John Cemetery. Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright is handling the arrangements.
