Steven J. Crowell, age 69, of Cincinnati, OH passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia on Wednesday, October 14th, 2026.
He was born on July 15th, 1957 in Salem, Massachusetts to Nancy J. Crowell (Isaacs) and the late Richard J Crowell. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. Steve was the beloved husband of Karen M. Crowell (Niehaus), loving father of Kevin and Danny Crowell, and cherished grandfather of Eloise and Silas Crowell. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Catharine of Siena in Westwood. A friend to everyone he met, Steve never missed a chance to make everyone laugh with his quick witted humor. Steve enjoyed spending mornings walking with friends or running with the Westside Running Club. A lifelong golfer, he also made many friends on the course. Steve was an avid outdoor adventurer and loved hiking and canoeing with his family, especially Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. Camera in hand, Steve never failed to capture the beautiful memories his family will forever cherish (often at the most unexpected moments). When they were young, Steve loved spending time with his boys working on projects, playing outside, or relaxing together with a movie on. Whether with family or friends, above all he loved being with others. Fully restored to glory in Heaven, Steve will be forever remembered and deeply loved by his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Crowell (Niehaus); children, Kevin Crowell (Ashlee Justice-Crowell) and Danny and Lindsey (Stiles) Crowell; mother, Nancy J. Crowell (Isaacs); grandchildren, Eloise and Silas Crowell; siblings, Randal Crowell (Becki) and Wendy Salsieder (Alan); nieces and nephews, Bryan Salsieder, Evan Salsieder, Amanda Brumbacker and Hannah Mettens; and sister-in-law, Sharon Brumback (Jamie). Steve was preceded in death by his father, Richard J. Crowell, father-in-law Paul Niehaus, and mother-in-law Annette Niehaus (Stein).
