Stephen Nile Gilliam, 78 of Fort Wright, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Hospice Care of Christ Hospital with his family by his side. Steve was a Sergeant in the United States Airforce, Strategic Air Command and was a Steely Eyed missile man stationed in Grand Forks, North Dakota from 1967-1970. Steve was a member of Saint Agnes Church and a retired Master plumber at the family business. Steve was a dedicated family man, known as a loving father, papa, son, brother, uncle, coach and loyal friend to many.

Steve found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He loved relaxing at the beach, listening to music, and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds. A lifelong learner of history, Steve had a deep appreciation for America's heritage and was proud of his patriotism. He was also an avid collector of Lionel trains, a hobby that brought him great enjoyment throughout the years. Steve will be remembered for his love of family, his many passions, and the countless memories he created with those he loved.

Steve will be remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met. Always easygoing and full of love, he had a remarkable ability to make others feel welcome and valued. His resilience, compassion, and enduring love for his family and friends will remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

Steve was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years, Judy Gilliam (Espenscheid) father: Gordon Gilliam, mother, Catherine Gilliam (Rehmet) and brothers: Lawrence Gilliam, John Gilliam and Thomas Gilliam. He is survived by daughters, Stephanie Fieler (Kenny), Stacey Turner (Travis) and Jan Gilliam. His grandkids, Simon and Elliott Fieler and Jude Elise Turner. His siblings, Gwen Dunn, Roger Gilliam, Kelly Gilliam and Heather Gilliam. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Saint Agnes Church,1680 Dixie Highway, Fort Wright, KY 41011 Thursday July 2, 2026 from 4-6 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 pm. A reception will immediately follow the Mass at Notre Dame Academy Alumnae Hall, 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills KY. Interment will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 10:00 am at Saint Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, KY.
