Shirley Caroline Dupre, 88, passed Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 7:11 am at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. She passed peacefully surrounded by her daughter, Beth Kruer, and grandchildren.
Shirley was born in Ashland, Ohio, a place she loved dearly, which was home to her favorite church Trinity Lutheran and family farm. Her childhood on the farm inspired her lifelong love of nature, horses, and the outdoors. In Shirley’s final days, she was able to spend several hours in a beautiful patio garden surrounded by her family listening to her favorite music.
Shirley was an avid reader, cat lover, devout follower of Jesus, talented seamstress, excellent cook, and a proud vegetarian committed to maintaining her health. Shirley had an independent, courageous personality that carried into her daughter, granddaughters, and grandson. As Shirley once said, “God created us all to be unique,” and she emphasized this in her daily life as well as her final moments.
Shirley was preceded by Beth’s Father, Colonel Earl Dupre; Mother, Evelyn Hipp; Father, Richard Mosher; brother, Harold Mosher; and sisters, Sandy McCracken and Janet Shoup; as well as her beloved 10 “fur babies” which includes 2 dogs and 8 cats. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Kruer; grandson, Josh Kruer; and granddaughters, Courtney, Lindsey, and Carly Kruer.
Shirley was adamant about people living their life to the fullest, embracing the positive, and enjoying every moment. As her family, we all hope everyone can be a little more like Shirley Caroline Dupre.  Memorial contributions made in her name are suggested to the Kentucky Humane Society, donation link below.
