In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Schaar
Robert "Bob" Schaar, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 28th, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle following surgical complications.Born in Covington, Kentucky, on June 9, 1951, to the late Jack and Jean Schaar, whose values and spirit he carried throughout his life. He was predeceased by his parents, who undoubtedly welcomed him into their loving arms upon his passing.For 55 beautiful years, Bob shared his life with his dedicated and loving wife, Teri (nee Braun). Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. They enjoyed traveling together,spending time with family and friends and cheering on Kentucky Wildcats basketball, Reds baseball and Bengals football. He was always sure to express his frustration when his teams were not faring so well. You also might find him regularly on a barstool at the Saddle Club,surrounded by his closest buddies, sharing laughs and raising a cold beer.He often referred to his daughters, Holli Ahlers and Kelli Eviston (Robert), as "his girls," and he was immensely proud of the strong, compassionate women they became. He dedicated his life to them, ensuring they always had everything they needed. He was the ultimate "girl dad" who went above and beyond to make sure their lives were always secure, comfortable and filled  with love.Bob cherished his role as a grandfather, delighting in the lives and accomplishments of his grandchildren: Delaney, Ty, and Quinn Eviston, and Grant and Olivia Ahlers. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he was their biggest supporter and advocate. As a devoted grandfather, his favorite place to be was in the stands or in the audience, proudly cheering them on through every stage of life. Some of his happiest memories were the family’s annual trips to Hilton Head Island with his grandkids where they golfed, played beach games and he introduced them to the fundamentals of playing cards.Bob was a chemist and product developer for P&G for 35 years. He had a remarkable palate that allowed him to develop beverages like Folgers coffee and Sunny D. Aside from his family and work, the golf course was truly his happy place. Bob learned and excelled at golf at a very young age. One of his proudest moments was winning a state championship title in 1969 as a member of the Covington Catholic High School golf team. He was also a founding member of Triple Crown Country Club and won a club championship and a Senior club championship there. He enjoyed traveling the country and playing some of the best courses, but some of hisfavorite memories came from his yearly golf trips to Hilton Head and Daufuskie Island with his friends. He treasured every round of golf and the hours spent with friends creating bonds that lasted a lifetime. We take comfort in picturing him now on the ultimate course with his dearest  friends who passed before him, where the fairways are endlessly green, every drive goes straight down the middle and the cooler in the cart is full of cold Budweiser.As we remember Bob, we celebrate a quiet, humble man who lived a life full of the greatest integrity. He never sought the spotlight; instead, he let his actions speak for his character. He lived his life with a gentle strength, a kind heart and a steadfast dedication to the people he loved.In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob's memory to St.Elizabeth Hospice or First Tee of Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky.Bob’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have shared in their grief and offered support during this difficult time over the past 7 months. May we honor Bob's memory by carrying forward his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity.
