Robert J. Kaufman, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born in Covington, KY on November 17th, 1937 to the late Angelan and Cletus Kaufman. Before his retirement Robert worked as Treasurer for the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority. Robert was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Kaufman and his sister Betty Kaufman. Robert is survived by his children Robert (Theresa) Kaufman Jr., Nicholas (Kathleen) Kaufman, Joseph (Kimberly) Kaufman and Mark (Andrea) Kaufman; grandchildren Jennifer Kaufman, Sarah (John) Lengyel, Kenneth (Sarah) Kaufman, Brian Kaufman (fiance' - Caroline Argyros), Kaitlyn (Nick) Rogers, Benjamin Kaufman, Andrew Kaufman and Brody Kaufman; great-grandchildren Sophia Kaufman, Henry Kaufman and Ryleigh Rogers; also survived by his brother Gerald Kaufman.
Nothing was more important to Bob than his family and faith. He loved woodworking, traveling, and supporting his family in any way he could. His later years were spent caring for his wife Margie and volunteering at The Point and St. Vincent de Paul.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23rd from 3-6 pm at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, August 24th at 10 am at St. Joseph Church, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring,KY 41076. Interment will take place following mass at St. Stephen cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to be sent to The Point Arc of Northern Kentucky, 104 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011 and/or St. Vincent de Paul Society at St.Joseph Church, 4011 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
