Robert F. Brockman
April 7, 1977 - May 24, 2026
Robert F. Brockman, 49, of Anderson, OH passed away May 24, 2026. He was a devoted father, beloved son, caring brother, faithful friend, and a man whose life was rooted in faith, compassion, and service to others. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, service, mentorship, and devotion to family that will never be forgotten.
More than any accomplishment in life, Rob’s greatest joy and proudest role was being the father of Sammy and Annie. They were his entire world and the center of everything he did. He loved his children fiercely and unconditionally, and there was nothing more important to him than being present in their lives. Whether he was cheering them on, guiding them through life, making them laugh, offering advice, or simply spending time together, Rob treasured every moment with them. The bond he shared with Sammy and Annie was deep, genuine, and unwavering – a love that will continue to surround them forever. His greatest victory in life was the love he gave to his children, family and God.
Rob was known for his strong faith and servant’s heart. As an active member of St. Gertrude the Great Church in West Chester, OH, he lived his faith daily through kindness, humility, generosity, and his commitment to helping others.
A 1996 graduate of Dixie Heights High School, he attended Thomas Aquinas College, Morehead State and Oakland University, and was a valued member of each school’s baseball team.
Baseball was one of Rob’s greatest passions and lifelong gifts. With over 18 years of coaching and playing, Rob built a respected career that included independent professional baseball, MLB-affiliated minor league experience, collegiate baseball programs, and elite developmental academies. A gifted athlete, respected coach, and mentor, he earned admiration throughout the baseball community for both his talent and leadership.
Among his proudest accomplishments was playing on the 2006 European World Champion USA Baseball Team. He also coached in the Ohio State High School All-Star Games at Great American Ball Park in 2006 and 2007 and was honored with the Outstanding Service Award as a Hitting and Fielding Coach.
Rob’s greatest contribution to baseball was the impact he made on young players. He volunteered countless hours with the Cincinnati Reds Urban Youth Academy teaching children from underprivileged communities that baseball was never just about winning games; it was about life lessons, building relationships, and helping children to believe in themselves. He also volunteered his time with organizations including Green Diamond Gallery in Montgomery, OH continuing his lifelong commitment to serving others and giving back to his community.
Rob was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Brockman, his grandparents, John and Jane Donadio and Robert “Brock” and Ruth Brockman; and his devoted aunt, Agnes “Missy” Brockman.
He is survived by his dear mother, Jane Donadio Brockman, his beloved children, Sammy and Annie; his much-loved siblings Emily and Jesse Crail, Brian and Jessica Brockman, Megan and David Mann, Bridget and Andrew Schneider, Teresa and Marty Alter, John and Helen Ann Brockman, Tony Brockman, and Philip and Samantha Brockman; along with 32 nieces and nephews, whom he loved beyond measure.
Rob treasured being an uncle and took immense pride in the relationships he shared with each of his nieces and nephews. He loved them as if they were his own. Through laughter, guidance, support, or simply showing up for them, he made each of them feel deeply loved, valued, and believed in.
He also leaves behind many cousins, especially his close-knit Italian cousins from Northern OH, fellow coaches, former players, and the countless lifelong friends he cherished and considered his brothers throughout his adult life. Rob stayed closely connected with many of his former teammates and friends, speaking with them regularly – often daily or weekly – sharing laughter, encouragement, memories, and unwavering support. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel like family.
