Cahill, Norbert Cahill, Vince Cahill (late Katherine) and William Cahill.Ray and his brothers were the former owner/operators of Jim’s Beverage until 1999. He knew many Ft.Mitchell and surrounding area residents by name. The family couldn’t go anywhere without Ray running into someone he knew. He had a true love for his fellow neighbor and enjoyed talking with everyone.Ray never met a stranger. When the grandchildren introduced Pawpaw to their friends, he was Pawpaw to them too. Ray would always shake his care-givers hands and remember their names when they were first introduced. He would remember where they lived and details about their families. He genuinely cared about people and their circumstances.Over the years Ray and Jan found life-long friendships with their neighbors, who are considered family. They all supported each other in the good and challenging times of life. You could often find Ray helping a neighbor with a repair project, loan of a tool, or sharing a cold Budweiser. When Ray retired he increased his time on the golf course. He played in a league with many of his nephews watching over his brother’s children offering love and support. He totally enjoyed the relationships he had with each of his nieces and nephews. Ray also played in the Senior Golf league at Devou Park where he enjoyed some long time friendships. He dreamt about his golf game often, he loved that game!Ray’s greatest love was for his family. His children are inspired by his perseverance and strength. He treated everyone he met with respect, kindness and a smile. He had a wealth of life lessons and knowledge that he shared by example, in word and deed. Ray had a special relationship with each of his grandchildren, giving each of them an endearing nickname that has followed them through life. All of the great grand children knew him personally and brought him such joy.Ray will be greatly missed.
