Patrick “Pat” Flannery, 68, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 25, 2026. He was a man of deep faith, abiding love for his family, and enduring generosity and service towards others.

Pat was a dedicated and lifelong member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY. He loved his family and valued helping others. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He balanced pride in his family and faith with a humility that made everyone around him feel valued.

He is preceded in death by his father, Patrick Flannery (2008); mother, Anne Flannery (2015); sisters, Sharon (1962) and Kathleen (1997); and niece, Emily Harding (2005).

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sonya; his son, Patrick (Amanda); granddaughters Katherine and Elizabeth; brother, Kevin (Pam); sister, Molly; and his nephew Sean (Kelsey).

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 2, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Middendorf Funeral Home in Fort Wright, KY is handling arrangements.
