Patrick H. “Pat” Byrns passed away Friday, September 1, 2023, at the age of 85 years old. Pat is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Mary E. Byrns (nee Kelly); his daughter, Julie (Joseph) Mahorney; and his grandchildren, Hayley, Jackson, and Dylan Mahorney – all of whom he loved dearly.

Pat was born January 18, 1938, in Cincinnati, OH and grew up in Covington, Kentucky. He graduated from Holmes High School in 1956 and the University of Kentucky in 1962. He held several positions within the Human Resources field at local companies.

Pat loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching all sports. He especially loved watching and attending Kentucky high school football and basketball games. He and his wife also traveled all over the country to watch his beloved University of Kentucky Wildcats play basketball and football.

Pat’s father, Albert Byrns, his mother, Freda Byrns, and his brother, Robert Byrns, preceded him in death.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 7th at Hopeful Church Cemetery on Hopeful Church Rd. Florence KY, 41042.  There will be a reception in Pat's Honor immediately following the service at Drees Pavillion in Devou Park. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed by a memorial contribution to, the Point Arc, 104 W. Pike St. Covington, KY 41011. Online condolences may be made at, www.middendorf-funeralhome.com
