Michael P. Moeves, 71 years of age, passed away peacefully Friday, August 6th at his home surrounded by his wife, children and other close family and friends. Mike was a decorated Marine who received the Purple Heart medal after being wounded in Vietnam. He was a lead salesman for Sears Roebuck after returning from war and later retired from a career on the L&N CSX Railroad after nearly 20 years of service. Mike was a man of pure character as he was blessed with more family and friends who adored him than 100 men put together. If you were lucky enough to have known him, you can consider yourself blessed. He left a legacy that most can only dream of and will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew him. Mike was the loving husband to Elaine Moeves (nee Deters) for nearly 52 years. Their commitment and devotion to one another was a marriage many envied. Loyal father to Chris Moeves (Michelle Zapp) Carrie Moeves, Toby Moeves (Kate), Adam Moeves (Darla Starns) and Molly Salyers (Ryan). In his final months, he was repeatedly known to tell friends that he was fearlessly living for his grandbabies. Loving PawPaw to Kyle and Aidan Moeves, Corinne Morrison (Jeffery), Bryce Moeves, Kadence, Brennan and Mavis Salyers, Dylan and Drew Moeves. Bonus Grandpa to Aubree and Andie Zapp and Ethan, Haley and Abbigail Starns. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 11th at 10:00am, St. Barbara Church.
