MaryAnn “Deb” Scheper of Edgewood, KY, passed away peacefully on the Feast of All Souls, November 2, 2026, at the age of 90. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Scheper (1993), and her sister, Barbara Rabe (2021). She leaves behind her children, Lisa Scheper, Jerre (Kim) Scheper, Mark (Renee) Scheper, Jill (Scott) Neltner, Stephanie (Bill) Gillcrist, Christopher (Lisa) Scheper, Suzanne (Tim) Wulfeck, and Martin (Julie) Scheper, and her brother, Mark (Nancy) Simpson. She is also survived by her 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
MaryAnn was born in Cincinnati, OH, to Cecilia and Pete Simpson and was the oldest of three children. She and her husband, Jerry, were married at St. Henry Church in 1957. Together, they built a loving home where faith, laughter, sports, and family were always at the center. She enjoyed playing tennis at Brookwood Swim Club and watching her children compete in numerous sporting events. She was faithfully involved in the Mustard Seed Prayer Community and volunteered at the Be Concerned Food Pantry. More than anything, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Later in life, she relished the opportunity to go fishing with Lisa down at their house on Norris Lake. She took joy in being outdoors and tending to her beautiful yard and flower beds. Nothing made her happier than sitting out on the patio under a warm sun and looking up at a blue sky. Her devotion to family, generosity, steadfast faith, and unwavering love for Jesus and the Blessed Mother will continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 9, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Rd., Edgewood, KY 41017.
