Marie Josephine Arnold nee Phillips

Marie Josephine Arnold (nee Phillips) 95 years of age passed away peacefully at her residence on May 8, 2025. Marie was the loving wife of the late John C. Arnold. Loving mother of Michael Arnold (Laurie), Mary Fox (Rick), Mark Arnold (Linda), Martha Arnold, Joseph Arnold (Cathie), and Joan Arnold. 

Loving grandmother of Emily Wearne (Evan), Matt Arnold, Tom Arnold, Carolyn Williams, Dan Arnold (Megan deceased), Maria Fox, Johnathan Arnold (Emily), Andy Arnold (Jessie), Sean Arnold, Chris Arnold, and Connor Arnold. Loving great grandmother (GGMA) of Riley Williams, Ethan Williams, Jackson Wearne, Clara Wearne, Joey Arnold, Penny Arnold, Benny Arnold, and Charlie Arnold. 

Marie was born on March 19, 1930 in Newport, KY to the late Jack and Clara Phillips. She is survived by her dear sister Alice Barone (Richard). Preceded in death by her other siblings Ruth Luebbers (Harry), Harry Phillips (Margaret), Clarence Phillips (Bonnie), Thomas Phillips (Betty), Anna Mae Prindle (Jack), and Catherine Gerwel (Bernie). 

Marie loved spending time with her extensive family and friends, gardening, bowling, crafting, playing cards, and visiting the casino. She enjoyed fun activities and great trips with her senior groups, including Pathfinders and Hilltoppers. She also was extremely active at St. Augustine Church, belonging to the St. Monica’s Society until her passing. She loved an ice cold beer, an ice cream bar, or a donut hole (never together), all the better if she could share one with her family. She brightened everyone’s day with her laughter and can-do attitude, even doing aqua therapy with her kids when she was scared to death of the water. Many friends and family have lost a cherished person in their life. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike in Ft. Wright. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 10:00 am at St Augustine Church, 1839 Euclid Avenue, Covington KY. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: St. Augustine Church, 413 West 19th Street, Covington, KY 41014.
