Kristan Hodges Sr.

Kristan “Kris” Hodges, DVM, 70 years of age, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 at Rosedale Green Care Facility, where he had lived for 6 years. He is survived by Alice “Jeanette” Hodges, his wife of 46 years; son Kirt (Diane); daughter Valerie (Tom); grandchildren Leah, Nathan, Everly, Wiley; sister Kathy Guenther. His sister, Diane, and parents Helen and Herb Hodges preceded him in death. Kris was widely known and respected in the veterinary profession. As a small animal practitioner, he was a skilled surgeon and diagnostician. His clients often commented about his deep compassion and love for his patients. His compassion for others also extended throughout his life. At Rosedale Green, he was known as an “ambassador,” befriending newcomers and comforting other residents when they were distressed. One of Kris’s many talents was leadership. He was president of many organizations --- Theta Chi social fraternity at U.K, Omega Tau Sigma veterinary fraternity at Auburn University, Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association and even the Residents’ Council at Rosedale Green.
