Kathleen S. Dorning

Kathleen Sue (Kathy) Dorning passed away peacefully Friday August 19^th, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Eileen Dorning and her brother Bill. She is survived by her sister-in-law Kay Dorning, nieces Emily Henry (Ron Lucas), and Valarie Brandenburg ( Scott), and nephew John Dorning ( Cara), her best friend Susy Wade and her husband Alan. She is also survived by her great nieces Caroline Brandenburg, Lily, Gracie and Lucy Dorning, and great nephews William ( Ella) and Hudson Henry, Howie and Jake Brandenburg, and her beloved god-daughters Melina Harris and Brittney Bress.

Kathy graduated from the University of New Mexico and received her Masters in Education from the University of Kentucky. She lived life to the fullest and with her entrepreneurial zeal enjoyed several business ventures. Kathy lovingly cared for her mother for many years, traveling extensively with many camping trips and winters in Texas. She channeled her passion for the elderly with her last position in HR at Owenton Manor.

Funeral Mass is Thursday August 25^th , 11:00 am at Transfiguration of Our Lord in Perry Park, KY. Celebration of Life immediately following at the Dorning’s Perry Park home, 320 Whippoorwill Ln. Graveside service will be private for the family Friday August 26^th. In lieu of flowers please send Memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
