John “Jack” Frederick Lowry, 96, of Kenton Vale, KY, beloved husband to Alice for 65 years, passed away peacefully at St. E. Hospice Center on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Jack was a proud veteran who served in the Army during WWII. He retired from the railroad after 40 years. During their retirement years, Jack and Alice enjoyed traveling the country. Jack loved golf and dominated in games of cornhole, pool, ping pong and cards. He will be remembered for his quick wit and many jokes. He was also known as the “Candy Man” for giving sweet treats to various care facilities. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Cecilia Lowry, his siblings, Elmer Lowry Jr., Charles Lowry and Thomas Lowry; and his son John C. Lowry. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Lowry (nee Feiler); daughters, Anna (Jim) Rice and Teresa (Jim) Woeste; and his sister, Mary Lou Wilson. Jack was a kind hearted soul and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren; Ryan Lowry, Jessica (Craig) Foster, Alicia Rice, Amy (Mark) Combs, Joe Woeste and Tim Woeste; his great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends. Visitation is Monday September 27, 11:00 AM at Mother of God Church, 119 West 6th St. Covington, KY 41011, followed by Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at Mother of God Cemetery. Reception in church hall following services. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
