John E Crowe

John Edward (Jack) Crowe, age 86, of Fort Wright, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. John is survived by his loving children, Mike Crowe (Terri), Shannon Crowe Hawryluk (Jim) and Richard Lutes Crowe (Patti); grandchildren, Clay and Chad Crowe and Hannah and Weston Hawryluk; siblings, David J. Crowe (Marion) and Patty Lee (the late Bob).  He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Veronica Crowe; parents, Thomas Edward and Evelyn Crowe; sisters, Marilyn Kolkmeier and Beverly Sahnger; nephew, Martin Crowe.  

Born July 23, 1935 in Covington, KY Jack began his schooling and would go on to graduate from Holy Cross High School and attended Xavier University for a time. He was a retired Union carpenter and a member of the United States Army Reserves. He worked for Schrudde and Zimmerman Construction from 1969 until the time of his retirement as a superintendent for corporate construction.  Outside of work, Jack loved God, his family and the outdoors. He was an active member of various parishes in the Diocese of Covington including Holy Cross, St Barbara, All Saints and St Timothy but he went to mass nearly everyday in his last years at St Louis in Cincinnati, the church where his parents were married. He spent much of his time outdoors, whether it be gardening, or fishing and hunting with his son and grandsons. He was an avid sports fan, and rarely missed a Notre Dame football, University of Kentucky basketball or Cincinnati Bengals or Reds game. He always made time for his family and was beyond proud of his children and grandchildren and would tell anyone who would listen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 3:00 PM until Mass of Christian Burial begins at 4:30 PM.  Interment will take place the following day, Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. Mary Cemetery at 10:00 AM.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association of Cincinnati 644 Linn St, Unit 1026, Cincinnati, OH 45203.
