John Alden, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and an unshakeable love for his family.
John was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, mother Elaine, and brother Kevin.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Darlene, his brother Bruce, his children Heather and Brian, son-in-law Brad, daughter-in-law Chanel, and his cherished grandchildren Kaleb and Rylee, whose accomplishments he proudly shared with anyone who would listen—and many who didn't ask.
A man of natural curiosity and easy conversation, John had a gift for making strangers feel like old friends. Whether discussing the finer points of climbing on roofs, navigating the complexities of an insurance claim, or debating the latest baseball transactions, his practical wisdom and common sense made him the person everyone turned to for advice.
John's passions ran deep. He was a devoted—if perpetually exasperated—Cincinnati Reds fan, always ready with commentary on the team's latest missteps. His encyclopedic knowledge of 60s and 70s music made him a cruise trivia champion, accumulating plastic anchor medals and bottles of champagne, which he generously donated to his son-in-law and grandchildren.
Above all, John's greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind countless memories of laughter, good conversation, and a love that will continue to guide those he held dear.
Celebration of life to be held at a later date.
