Janet Rose Cahill

Janet Rose Cahill (nee Schuette) 80 years of age passed away peacefully Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.  Janet was the loving wife of Raymond Cahill for 61 beautiful years. Loving mother of Karen Wilson (Brian), Mark Cahill, Amy Engelman (Matt), and John Cahill (Linda). Loving Maw Maw of eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Edward Richard Schuette (the late Willa), George Schuette (Mary Jean), the late Kathy Hollingsworth (late Edward), and the late John “Jack” Schuette (Ann). Jan was always welcoming and the most gracious hostess to family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her artistic talents, especially her passion for hand-painting treasured keep-sake Christmas figurines for family and friends.  Jan was especially proud of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren; she would light up whenever she was with them.  Jan enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and word jumbles.  Jan was the family historian taking many, many pictures through the years, placing them all in photo albums.  Jan will be greatly missed; her family will carry on the tradition of finding the “pickle” on the Christmas tree and gathering together to celebrate milestones and special occasions. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, from 4:00 pm until 6:00pm at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery. Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright, KY are handling the arrangements.
