James L. Schoettle

James L. Schoettle, age 78, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully on April, 25, 2026. Born in Cincinnati, OH in 1947 to George and Louise Schoettle, Jim grew up in Anderson Township. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He is survived by his children, Scott Ferguson, Jeff Ferguson (Bree), Michelle Hart (Brian) and Micah Schoettle (Katie); siblings, Mary Kendall and Tom Schoettle; grandchildren, Cory, Jacob, Luke, Briar, Aubrey, Eli and Tucker; great-grandchild, Oliver. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Schoettle (2023) and grandson, Tanner (2019).

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Middendorf Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until the Funeral Service begins at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held privately at Independence Cemetery at a later date.
