James D. “Jim” Eggemeyer, 90 years of age, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood surrounded by his family. Jim was the loving husband of Joan Eggemeyer (nee Voelker) for sixty-five wonderful years. The loving father of Theresa Eggemeyer, Sharon Robison, Linda Connelly (John), Steve Eggemeyer (Stacy), Julie Stevens (Brian), and Jamie Holtzapfel (Andrew). Loving grandpa of 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents Mary and Francis Eggemeyer, and his sisters Ruth Eggemeyer and Jean Heskamp.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who always put family first. A proud Army Reservist, he was a man of strong faith, quiet strength, and genuine humility. He was hardworking and believed in doing things right, while also knowing the importance of enjoying life—whether through a daily walk with Joan, a scoop of ice cream, a good puzzle, or a little comic relief.
Jim loved the outdoors, stayed active throughout his life, and took great pride in his family and their accomplishments. He was known for his resourcefulness, quick wit, and engineering mind.
Above all, Jim was a loving and steady presence who made everyone around him feel safe, protected, and loved. He ended every “I love you” with, “I love you more,” a sentiment that perfectly captured the depth of his love for his family.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
