Jake Fischer, age 28, passed away on April 24th, 2026. He was born in Edgewood, KY on October 28th, 1997 to Mary and Joe Fischer. Jake worked as an assistant site manager for Gray Construction. Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents Dr. Don and Natalie Schweitzer And Mr. & Mrs. Fred and Judy Fischer. Jake is survived by his parents Mary and Joe Fischer and his sister Ashley Fischer. He is also survived by 26 aunts and uncles and 40 first cousins.
For those who knew Jake, they knew of his very competitive instinct, whether it was in a discussion about sports or his love of playing baseball, soccer or Kendama. Kendama was his real passion. Jake was a Jr. Pro player at 14, and a Pro at 17. In 2014, he made his 1st of 7 trips to Japan, 3 tours of Europe and all around this country. While doing so, he was consistently a top 10 Kendama Player in the World and won 3 World Freestyle Championships. His exploits in NKY include, Northern Ky Kendama Club at Learning Express, scores of birthday parties and he hosted his own competition at St. Pius while in high school. By all accounts, his spirit touched scores of Kendama players world wide.
Jake attended St. Agnes Elementary, Covington Catholic High School and the University of Kentucky, where he earned his BS in Civil Engineering. Jake was employed by Oswald Construction as an intern, then moved to Gray Construction where he was an Assistant Site Manager on very large projects.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1st from 3:30-6 pm at St. Agnes Church 1680 Dixie Hwy, Ft. Wright, KY 41011. Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at 6 pm at St. Agnes Church. Interment will take place the following morning at St. John cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the FIRE Foundation of Northern Kentucky PO Box 176324 Lakeside Park, KY 41017 and/or the Covington Catholic High School work study program (please indicate "in memory of Jake Fischer") 1600 Dixie Highway Park Hills, KY 41011.
