Frances Dorothy Greene

Frances Dorothy Greene, age 91, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. She is survived by her loving children: Michael B. Greene (Susan), James D. Greene (Nancy), William J. Greene (Nancy), and son-in-law Richard W. Schiebelhuth; grandchildren: Jennifer, Jaime, Daniel, Richard M. and Laura; great-grandchildren: Victoria, Henry and Olivia.  Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Gaffney; husband, Bernard M. Greene; daughter, Joan F. Schiebelhuth (Richard W.); sisters, Betty Clark and Ruth Roche. 

Frances was devoted to her family. She shared that devotion with her husband Bernie as they treasured their 57 years of marriage. Together they supported one another, unfailingly, in hard times which were few, and in good times which were many. 

Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews were everything to her. She fully embraced the circle of family that extended through marriage from her beloved sisters, Betty and Ruth, to in-laws, second cousins and on and on. Frances would go to great lengths to attend family gatherings in celebration of life’s milestones. If she could not attend, she would be sure to send a card and a gift. No significant date escaped her memory, and she was relied on to recall dates of birthdays, graduations, weddings, and funerals, going back many generations. 

She made friends easily and was faithful to her friendships for life.

She put great faith in God to guide her and give her strength when in her last years she was challenged by health issues. She also depended on her heritage to provide her with “Irish fortitude!” Anyone who knew her can attest to her ability to bear-up, endure, and recover when her greatest challenges appeared.

From this life she created a deep reservoir of wisdom and love that her family and friends will draw on eternally. She gave of her love in this life and was loved in return. She will live in our hearts and forever be missed.
