Eugene "Gene" J. Schlarman

Eugene “Gene” James Schlarman, age 87, of Covington, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  He bravely served our country as a member of the 101^st Airborne Paratrooper Division during the Korean War.   Gene is survived by his dear wife of 63 years, Helen Schlarman (nee Wallace); daughters, Karen Emmerich (Eric) and Lynda Nichting (Scott); grandchildren, Ethan and Hayley Emmerich.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Schlarman; brothers, Jerome Schlarman and Paul Schlarman.  A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Middendorf Funeral Home (3312 Madison Pike Ft. Wright, KY 41017) from 11:00 AM until the Funeral Service begins at 1:00 PM.  Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery (Southgate, KY).  Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice 483 S Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.
