Dr. Joseph J. King, 86, resident of Park Hills, Kentucky passed away on November 28,2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
A dedicated member of St. John’s Church in Covington and volunteer at a great many organizations during his lifetime, Dr. King was a practicing & dedicated chiropractor and healer in the Park Hills community for over 65 years.
He was a proud brother of the Delta Sigma Chi Professional Chiropractic Fraternity, a Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the American Legion Post203 and Elks Lodge 314, a Kentucky Colonel, and a Kentucky Admiral. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and always participated in the Park Hills Memorial Day parade and other community events.
He lived a very active lifestyle, which included dancing with his wife Sherrie and the Cincinnati Bop Club swing dancers, learning to skydive in his 60s, and water skiing each summer until the age of 85.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. James & Virginia King and his brothers Dr.John “Jack” King and Dr. James “Jimmy” King. Dr. Joe King is survived by his loving wife Sherrie; brother Dr. William “Bill” King; sister Kathy Moore (Jim); his children: Dr.Michael King, Dr. John “Kelly” King (Joy), Patricia King, Dr. Molly King (Christopher Gorz), Nick King (Lucy), Brad King, Scott King (Beth), Steven King (Shelia); and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, December 6, from 4 PM - 7 PM at the Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike Fort Wright, KY. Services will occur Saturday, December 7 at10:00 AM at St. John’s Church, 627 Pike Street Covington, KY 41011. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery. Reception to immediately follow the service in the church hall at St. John’s 11:30-2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Memory and Honor of Dr. Joseph King to either St. John’s Church (see above) or to Heritage Fellowship Church (memo line: Sunday Luncheon with Love) 7216 US HWY 42 Florence KY41042.
