Dorothy Lucille Coggins

Dorothy Lucille Coggins (nee Kettmann), age 91, of Independence, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Dorothy was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 60 years, Charles Albert Coggins on February 8, 2021.  She is survived by her loving children, Charles Alan Coggins (Gretchen) and Karl Coggins; brothers, Theodore Kettmann and Eugene Kettmann; and her two grandchildren, Charles and Grant Coggins.  Dorothy loved spending time with her family and enjoyed quilting; she was a member of the Lutheran and Mecklenburg Quilting Guilds and donated many beautiful quilts to Project Linus and the local orphanage. Dorothy managed the North Park Library in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina until her retirement at age 70. She was a remarkable seamstress, an avid reader and loved cats.
