Donald R. Feldmann

August 9, 1943 — June 21, 2022

Donald Robert (Don) Feldmann of Crescent Springs, Kentucky and Longboat Key, Florida, passed peacefully into eternal life on June 21, 2022 at the age of 78 years. Born on August 9, 1943, in Covington, Kentucky to John and Sarah Feldmann. Don attended St. Mary (Bishop Brossart) High School in Cold Springs, before graduating from Morehead State University with an undergraduate degree in art education and a master’s degree in education.

Don went on to establish the art program at LaSalle High School in Cincinnati, where he taught and inspired students for ten years. He then decided to open his own business and was the owner of Hair Forum in the White Oak suburb of Cincinnati for almost 30 years. He was known for the high quality of the service of his salon, and the way he treated his employees and the way they treated their customers.

Don was married to Tracy for almost 55 years and together they travelled the world. Don especially loved spending time with Tracy at their home in Longboat Key, walking the beach and watching the sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. The joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.  A good man with a good heart, Don was known for his generosity of spirit with his family, friends, students, employees, and customers.

His generosity came from his strong Catholic faith which continued to grow throughout his life. He was a parishioner at Sts. Boniface & James Catholic Church in Ludlow and St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Longboat Key.

Don is survived by Tracy (Hellmann) Feldmann who he married on August 19, 1967; his son Steve (Kate) Feldmann; his three grandchildren, Julia, Nick, and Johnny; his brothers, David (Judy) and Dan (Cathy) Feldmann; his sister Phyllis (Ken) Weber; his sisters-in-law, Pat Feldmann and Carol Hart; and his many nephews and nieces.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sarah; his stepmother, Romilda; his brother, Dick; his sister, Tressie Lewis; and his sister-in-law, Jane Hellmann.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on June 29, 2022 at Sts. Boniface & James Catholic Church, 304 Oak Street, Ludlow, Kentucky 41016 with a Memorial Mass immediately following. A Mass of Christian Burial and internment (with a sacred spot overlooking the Gulf of Mexico) will be held at St. Mary, Star of the Sea in Longboat Key in July.

Memorial contributions can be made to Glenmary Home Missioners, P.O. Box 465618, Cincinnati, OH 45246 or www.glenmary.org/donate. Don had a special affinity for the work of Glenmary throughout his adult life. They do great work in spreading the Gospel throughout the U.S. and your support would help them in their mission.
