Deborah Helen Quinn

August 18, 1950 — February 28, 2023

Debbie Tranter Quinn, born August 18, 1950, died peacefully on February 28, 2023, at the age of 72.  She was born in Covington, Kentucky to the late Robert and Alma Tranter.  She spent her early childhood in the close-knit community of Ft. Wright, and her teen years in Edgewood. She was an incredible dancing teacher for over 30 years in Edgewood, operating the Tranter School of Dance Studio.  Her choreography skills were completely amazing. During her dancing career she met a wonderful man, Michael Quinn, who was soon to become her husband.  They were married on May 29th, 1987 and began a union that was to last almost 36 years. As Debbie always used to say, “Michael is not just my husband, he is my best friend”. When she left her dancing career, she and Michael became co-owners of Quinn Electric with his brother Terry and Terry’s wife Sheila.  During these years, she was the office manager and kept things running smoothly even if the hectic schedule required her to work on weekends. She was always a woman of adventure, taking up scuba diving with her family. Together they ventured into the beautiful undersea world of Florida, Costa Rica, Fiji, Indonesia and many other wonderful places. Debbie accomplished so much in her life…but her husband, children and grandchildren always held first place in her heart.  During her illness, her family and extended family pulled together to offer her the love, care, and friendship she justly deserved.  Her husband rarely left her side, treating her with the respect and love of a best friend. And Debbie rarely complained during this difficult time. Debbie is survived by her husband Michael, and her terrific children, Robbie (Britney) Golsch, Jackie (Jonathan) Golsch and Meghan Quinn. And she is survived by her beloved grandchildren Brayden and Graysen Golsch. In addition, she is survived by her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Quinn, her brother Bob (Marianne) Tranter, and her sister Kathy Schaeffer. Also she leaves her sisters and brothers-in-law, Shannon (Guy) Zimmerman, and Kevin (Kristen), Terry (Sheila) and Timmy (Melissa) Quinn.  Finally, she also leaves many nephews and nieces and fabulous friends who loved her very much. We, her family, will miss her desperately, and will look forward to seeing her again in heaven. Services will be Saturday, March 4th, at Middendorf Funeral Home located  at 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm , with a memorial ceremony immediately after at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made in Debbie’s name to St. Jude Hospital for Children, one of her favorite charities. Online condolences to: www.middendorf-funeralhome.com
