Daniel Edwin Lindeman, age 91, passed away peacefully at his Villa Hills, KY home of 58 years on May 30th, 2024. He was born on October 30th, 1932 in Covington, KY to the late Alvina and Edwin Lindeman. He grew up in the Lewisburg area of Covington and graduated from St. Henry High School in 1951. After graduation Dan, enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War. Afterward, Dan started a career in manufacturing eventually moving into sales/quotes for Littleford Brothers and later Cincinnati Ventilating that he retired from in 1994.
Dan had many hobbies that included home improvements, reading, and bird watching but his passion was pigeon flying. For 30 years Dan was a member of the Greater Covington Pigeon Racing Club. As a member, he practiced a sport brought from Europe where Homing Pigeons are bred and trained to “race” home from destinations as far as 500 miles. Dan’s pigeons won many races and visitors to his home usually remarked about the large “pigeon coup” in the backyard.
Dan is survived by his daughters, Laura Lindeman-Lorenz, Amy Wimberg (Jim) and Jennifer Kappas (Scott) along with his seven grandchildren, Matthew and Lindsey Lorenz, Molly and Heidi Wimberg and Jay, Caroline and Charlotte Kappas. Dan was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Carole (Fogg) Lindeman and his brother Paul Lindeman. Visitation will be on June 5th, 2024 from 10-11am at Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright. Service will take place following the visitation at 11am. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery following the service.
