Cheryl McDonald

Cheryl Ann McDonald, 71 passed away peacefully at home in the morning of Thursday, March 16th. Her long fierce battle with cancers ended as she was surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Joseph T. McDonald and her children William Lawhead (Melissa Jenkins), Julie Lawhead, Michael Lawhead, Christopher (Julia) Lawhead, Melissa McDonald, and Eric (Kristin) McDonald who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by Joseph’s children Kimberly and Steven (McDonald) Jewel and Rick and Christine McDonald.

Cheryl’s grandchildren have been her pride and joy including Sarah Lawhead Hughes (Chris), Natalie Lawhead, Elizabeth Lawhead, Cora Lawhead, James McDonald (Koors), and Mia Poole as well as Joseph’s grandchildren Alyssa Jewel and Alexandria Biehl. She is also loved by her siblings Ray Simpson, Terry (Pam) Simpson, and Donna Gillespie. Cheryl was preceded in death by her siblings Jerry Simpson, Carl Simpson, and Sandy McNeese.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her medical team with Christ Hospital including Dr. Daniel Silvestri and Dr. Jennifer Wittwer, and a tremendous thank you to her oncology team with Christ Hospital in Fort Wright with Dr. Brian Mannion and Mary Hamm, NP. The family is forever grateful for your loving care and support over the years. In addition, much gratitude and appreciation to the staff and programmingwith Cancer Support Community of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.  

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 22 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. Service will take place the following morning at 10:00 AM at Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright.
