Charlotte Sue Petrey

Charlotte Sue “Jackie” Petrey, 79, of Florence, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born January 2, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jackie grew up and lived in Florence, Kentucky.

Jackie was the beloved wife of David Petrey. She was a devoted mother to Kathy (Darren Darlington) Doll, David (Josie) Kirby, Michael Kirby(Preceded in death), Sherry (Doug) Eagler, Christopher Kirby (Preceded in death), Jason (Rose) Jones, and Crystal (Christopher) Smithson. She had three sisters, Mary (Sissy) Breedlove, Linda Lutz, Victoria Hays (Preceded in death) and two brothers, Arnold (Buddy) Hays and Arthur (Artie) Hays. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Hays and her mother Mary Hays. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each of whom knew the love she had for each of them. Above all, Jackie loved the Lord. 

Friends and family are invited to gather in celebration of Jackie’s life on Monday, December 15, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place afterward at Belleview Bottoms Cemetery.

Until we meet again, she will be missed every day, but her light continues to shine in all who were blessed to know her.
