Carolyn (Cari) Cahill Flower
3/27/87 – 9/29/26
Our beloved Cari passed into eternal life after suffering a seizure and cardiac arrest, resulting in a non-survivable brain injury. Cari was the definition of goodness…She was exceedingly loving, kind, generous, thoughtful and loyal to a fault. Cari was wildly creative and talented, producing beautiful works in ceramics, ink, and acrylics. She was a pioneer from a young age, being a member of the first ski club at Nagel Middle School and first women’s lacrosse team at Anderson High. She became devoted to organic farming at Warren Wilson College, and carried this passion for environmentalism into adulthood. Cari achieved her bachelor’s degree in psychology/art therapy, then developed and ran the children’s ski school at Ski Sante Fe (NM). Her ski teaching adventures continued in Telluride, CO, followed by multiple years at Arapahoe Basin. Cari moved back to the Greater Cincinnati area in 2022 with her partner and her dog, and achieved her lifelong dream of owning her own little farm in Independence, KY. Cari’s passions for stewardship of the land, growing food organically and teaching others about and how to do the same were her mission in life. She loved her little farm and her two Bernese Mountain dogs, who were treated better than most humans. She found great joy in family, all things nature, birds and animals, hiking and skiing. Cari was achieving her ambitious goals when her life was cut short.
It is no surprise that Cari was an organ donor. She gave the ultimate gift of life, with donations saving at least four lives. Cari lives on through the people she helped save. She is a true hero.
Cari is survived by her proud parents, Dave and Cookie; her devoted sisters, Anne and Julie; her 98-year-old grandmother, Donna Cahill; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and their children. Everyone who knew Cari loved her.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 – 12:00 at Mother of God Church in Covington KY, followed at noon by a Mass of Christian Burial. A Celebration of Cari’s Life will follow Mass. In lieu of flowers or other gifts for the family, please consider donating to Network for Hope (organ donor organization – networkforhope.org) or contributing to a tree-planting event in Cari’s memory. (Details shared at a later date.) If you can make it to her memorial events, please wear bright colors, celebrating the light and joy she brought to the world.
