Carol J. Montgomery

Carol Jean Shields-Montgomery (nee Finke), age 94, passed away on Sunday, December 21st, 2025. She was born in Covington, KY on September 20th, 1931 to the late Clara and Henry Finke, one of ten children. Carol grew up in Covington, Ky and was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. Initially a homemaker, she entered the workforce later in life and retired after 20 years as a Concierge at the Drawbridge Hotel. Carol will be remembered as a loving Mother, a wonderful Grandma Mica and the best Gigi ever. She will also be known for her great sense of style and for her talent as a baker. She is survived by her children Jody (Tom), Jim (Dorian), Terry (John), Mark (Laurie), Jeff, and Melissa (Kurt). She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren (preceded in death by Tate McMillin) and 12 great-grandchildren (preceded in death by Reese Shields.) Carol became a widow after the death of her first husband, Jim Shields and was also preceded in death by her second husband Robert Montgomery. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Monday, December 29th, 2025 at 2pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2470 Lorraine Ct, Crescent Springs, KY 41017. No visitation. Memorial donations are suggested by the family to be sent to Be Concerned, 1100 Pike St, Covington, KY 41011.
