Christian Carl Becker

November 19, 1920 — October 23, 2017

Christian C. Becker, age 96, of Ludlow, Ky., died peacefully at home on October 23. He is predeceased by his former wife, Adell, his brother Vincent Becker and sister Regina, Allen. He is survived by his sisters Joan Simpson, Agnes Becker, Kateri Setser, and brother Bill Becker. He will be forever sadly missed by daughters Rita and Dorothea Becker and sons, Donald, Stephen, Kenneth and Larry Becker. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Chris was born on November 19, 1920 and was the first born son of Marcellus and Agnes Becker. He graduated from Woodward High School and studied music at the University of Cincinnati. Chris was a WWII Veteran who served in the European Campaign with the 101st Division, 321st Glider Field Artillery Unit, 501st Parachute Infantry and 327nth Glider Infantry. He was also a musician who auditioned and was selected “Army Bandsman Trombone 440”. He played in the military bands for the above-mentioned units and performed for all military and outside functions. He  was in charge of the military dance band and worked in a vocal group. Chris received the following decorations and citations: European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, and the World War II Victory Medal. Chris also received Aviation and Marksmanship qualifications with medals and a Combat Infantry Badge. He was an aviation historian who as a child was thrilled by barnstormers who performed in the skies over Cincinnati. Services will be held Friday at Middendorf Funeral Home 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Mitchell, KY on October 27th with Deacon Jim Bayne officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am until 12:00 pm with a Service of Remembrance at 12:00 pm and followed by a Military Burial at Mother of God Cemetery, 2701 Latonia Pike, Latonia, KY 41015.
