James C. Wilshire

James C. Wilshire of Crestview Hills 85 years of age, passed away Sunday with his family by his side. For 65 years Jim was the loving husband of Sue Wilshire (nee Hauer). Loving Father of James Wilshire (Marcia), Lizanne Kaiser (Jeff), Marty Wilshire (Janice), Wendy Bridges (Keith), and the late Shari Wilshire and Kimberly Wilshire.  Jim was a loving grandpa to eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  

Jim graduated from Beechwood High School and received a football scholarship to the University of Louisville where he and John Unitas were teammates. After college he entered the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War.

Jim was a retired sales executive after 35 years with the Equifax Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jim volunteered his time as a knothole baseball coach for Blessed Sacrament from 1961 to 1970. He was the basketball coach for Blessed Sacraments 8th grade boys for 27 successful years. He also donated time at Beechwood High School running the time clock for basketball and football games from 1950 to 1978.

Jim is a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He is in the Northern Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Beechwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame. His name is on the Fort Mitchell Wall of Honor.
