Patrick Joseph Jefferies

Patrick Joseph Jefferies, age 84 passed away on Labor Day, Sept. 3, 2018 at St Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY.  Patrick was born in New Albany Indiana on Jan. 6, 1934 to Daryl and Agnes Beaucond Jefferies. He worked as an Organic Chemist for 40 years at Hilton-Davis Chemical Co. in Cincinnati, OH. During this time he obtained 14 U.S. Patents. After retiring in 1999, he worked 15 years for the IRS as a tax examiner.  He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958 at the Chemical and Biological research center in Edgewood, MD. Pat attended St. Xavier high school and graduated from Bellarmine University in 1955. He received a MS degree in Chemistry from Xavier University in 1959. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Maryann DeVore Jefferies, his daughter Susan Rott (Michael) of independence, KY and son Joseph Jefferies (Melissa), of Georgetown, KY., Seven grandchildren Christopher, Michelle and Justin Rott, Angela Wynn (Timothy) of Ft. Hood, TX. Austin, Carlie and Chelsea Jefferies. Two great grandchildren, Ava and Kamden Wynn. Sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Dennis Augur of Union, KY. One Niece, Linda Hart (Tom), three Nephews, Don Erpenbeck (Ann), Marc Erpenbeck (Margaret), and Brian Erpenbeck (Christa). One Cousin, Paul Endris of Clarksville, IN. Visitation will be at St. Pius X Church, Edgewood, 10 am-12 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018, Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. He will be buried at St. John Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
